Aranui v Riccarton last Sat pretty scrappy game all round, I think Aranui would have gone down by quite a bit if it wasn't for their halves. Heard Aranui have some returning players that will help the squad
Team to watch Ric

Halswell v Papanui Sun good numbers out for both teams, there was a lot more order and structure at this game, Papanui halves had the edge, no easy beat teams here, I think both teams will be well drilled and hard work for any team, but there did seem to be a lack of x factor players,
maybe not all the fire power on show yet.

Ricc v Kaiapoi today best trial I have seen so far, more intensity, some really good stuff, heard Ricc had some injuries,
My pick would be Kaiapoi based on halves, but number 9 for Ric played great

Looks like a good season ahead

Sounds like you guys have been analysing some footage lol

Personally I think you can't take much from trial form. The Lions team of 2009 are the prime example.

Yeah why don't the "Super-Duper Lions" have a game?

Watched the Panthers vs Keas trial today and wasn't too bad. It looked like there were quite a few players missing from both sides Siona, Andrew A, Rocks?, Teariki?, Dingo, Smith, Baxendale, Wallace etc

The Keas number 12 was the stand out for me, very strong and great work rate for a big guy. The Big unit for the Panthers look like he could be quite damaging this year as well if he gets more involved.

Looks like these teams have some decent players coming through.

Pastor Murray, did you take time out of your busy Sabbath for a sneaky peek? [Scratchin]

Yeah the trial was pretty good considering we (Keas) had quite a few guys missing for various reasons. The Panthers appear to be in a re-building phase like us this year after losing some key players. We are pretty happy with the way the guys that played performed considering it was the first hit out.

Yeah Leai (#12) carved up. He's had a whole year off but was the best player out there by far I thought.

crackerjack,
yes saw last 1/4 of Linwood v Hornby
I thought Linwood played a really physical game they will be good,
Hornby had numbers must have been 3 teams there and looked well organised. I think they are still top dogs

From what I've seen top 4 could be very similar to last year and the rest of us will be doing our best to change that

Lions had a run today quite a few boys putting up there hands.
Like Ricc have a load of injuries so may not get some key players back till season start.

Have quite a few rugby boys turn up this year 2 or 3 really good could play prems

I think everyone will enjoy the new guys in our squad some fresh blood for the season, 9, 2,13,7,4,5
