ok just an update on whats happening at sydenham this year...

first off, mike lynch is gone and the newly appointed coaches for the division one side for 2010 are Lucas Kelly and Lucas Fahey (Myself). we were extremely unlucky to lose the semi's last year to burnahm after beating them convincingly during both round robin matches, and this year are excited to welcome back a few old hands in Dabid Gower and Joe Sipa (Pending transfer) there will also be two teams this year, the first time in 4 or so years the club has managed to field two senior sides in one season, there is alot of positive changes in motion and we welcome them all as a step in the right direction for the club. We hope that you will join us as we attempt to revive a once loyal culture that was the Sydenham Swans...

First training Tuesday 19th Jan 6pm @ bradford park..

all senior players welcome..

Best wishes to everyone for the 2010 season.

Cheers.

Lucas F.

I hear Zion Tauamiti wants a rematch with Chris Bamford in the Keas Fight Night representing the Swans. That can be arranged...

Hopefully they get off the ground and back into the Prems where Sydenham belong!

So much history and so much talent flown the coup!

All the best!

Hey Lima,

me thinks they already are. if atown dont wanna let them go im pretty sure they wont go back there. its a lose lose situation and joe wants to coach a junior team at sydenham. and being that he was at training tonight and sounding very enthusiastic about everything ill take it that your comment is based solely on the fact you dont think he'll get a transfer. but thats a work in progress :)

training tonight was extremely positive, everyone bar justin lynch (back to celebration?) and kyle hallet (hibiscus coast) attended from last years team plus a base of new players is starting to build, after all the bad years the club has had we can only hope for the best and move forward from there.

thanks for everyones support.

much appreciated.

Lucas

When you are saying two senior sides, which ones you referring to?
I know you have Div 1 but the other?
Div2?
Pressies?
Womans?

Good to hear and see the swans in full flight!

Yes! correct, Div 1 and Div 2...

Hey knights hard, ill be giving a decision by this friday...(if thats not too late?)

couple questions - if we do play will we be playing against team of similar calibur or is it depended on the first game how we are graded?

hornets - i think alot of people have been waiting for a chance to play against a swans team again..its all positive! hopefully we can create some depth in our junior club and get back to premier status!

correct me if im wrong Knightshard, but to answer Bic im guessing that there has been a mixture of prems and lower divs enter and that the draw is random?. ie pulled from a hat or something. If it is anything like the old Canterbury comps then teams will be placed in a pool of four then ranked and placed in top half or lower half for playoffs which will depend on numbers.

It is more of a comp for a run around and anything can happen on the day as it is only short games. It should be good fun, a chance for the boys to showcase their talent.

Hope to see Sydenham there! Go hard.

Div 2 side ... sweet looking forward to that.
We did play them in 2008 when all the times where in one division then split.
apart from that I have to agree Hornets it been a few years... hmmm 1993 I think was my last div2 game against them.

To answer your question ric, with 16 teams we will be having 4 pools of 4 with hopefully 2 prems teams and 2 lower grade teams in each depended on who enters. As judah said on his post the teams will be put in a hat and drawn that way, in saying that the clubs with two teams will not be drawn in same pool. Hope that helped, really hope you guys enter would be great to see the swans mixing it up again.

hi bic

nah i went to his house and asked what the what was and he told me he not playin swans same as dabid as well jus asking them.

A town won't ever turn down a transfer from any of the players. We ain't like that you must have us confused wit another club.

good luck in your recruitment drive but know that when ya talk shit ya get shit.

true that.

we'll see what happens i guess, if they dont end up coming over then im sure they'll be welcome back at the A either way i dont really mind, shanes in charge over there so one loss is another brothers gain and vice versa. just so you know matey theres no "talking shit" as you would put it, joe was at training on tuesday so im lead to believe hes coming over. Hes a stand up guy im sure if he wasint keen he would have voiced it by now. either way its all good.

im pretty sure over the years tonnes of sydenham players have migrated east..we have an open door policy the same as most clubs do.

either way it would be good to have them both at swans, if not as i said i wish them all the best in their endeavors.

all good.
