We are still finding fights for Agaese & Chris Bamford (possibly). I don't know who your sources are but they might be giving you some false info. This is one of many fundraising initiatives for the 2010 season. We are intending on touring Australia at the end of season (Premiers & B's, supporters crew) playing 2 games over there. He might have his wires crossed.

I'm pretty sure that all the fights will be crackers as they are all pretty evenly matched bouts. The Keas boys are looking good in their boxing trainings thus far.

We are pleased to announce that "Woodstock" will be the major sponsor for this event. Thank you to all the players from their respective clubs for fronting up for these fights. We have already sold a few corporate tables so hurry up and get in quick. Special mention must go to Vince Whare for putting his hand up. Due to complicated circumstances Vince has had to withdraw from his fight with Teni Tuli. We will be re-scheduling this fight against another opponent. It is also great to have Bruce Buakula (Knights) and Tyrone Edmonds (Tigers) now on board as fighters in the line-up. That leaves only one club who will not be putting a fighter in. It's a bit dissapointing to not have all the Premier teams represented at this event. Sort it out Hornets!

Think thats pretty much all the fights covered bro. You might have to speak to Damian H. We might be getting Bambi a fight with a Hornet but if that falls through we can use one of those guys for sure

At this stage we have our head coach (Maurice Emslie) stepping into the ring against a referee. Dave Tulia (Keas) matching up against Joe Sipa (Swans/Eagles). Tali Feterika (Keas) against Tyrone Edmonds (Tigers). Great to see Vinnie down there at training today. Sparring session was very entertaining. Good job Keas! Photos of the boys in training will be posted on the facebook page "Keas Fight Night" very soon.

Also a special shout out to Jaye, congrads on the new arrival to your family bro!

There will also be a special match up between our Linwood Premiers Coach, Maurice Emslie and referee Darren Hopewell. Maurice has been coach of the premier side since 2007 and captained the Canterbury Bulls in 2000 when they won the Inaugural Bartercard Cup. Hopewell is a highly rated referee who was also an official at the Rugby League World Cup.

This is the chance for all referees to unite and support a bloke who is stepping up to give a bit of payback for all the criticism they recieve throughout the season. Or will it be time for the Coaches to have the last say???

Just to set the record straight: Darren Hopewell hasn't refereed for nearly 5 years or more so I would say he is an ex-referee.

p.s This is my personal opinion usually,( and I have had my indiscretions in the past), but as refs we let you guys go for it and wait for the dust to settle then adjudicate maybe that's how we should leave it

Good luck to all on the night Richard.

Yes flick, you be right.....

Maurice has referee'd more games in the last 5 years with the whistle and without, than D.H

So that makes him the referee and D.H the (What the hell is he thinking).

Good opportunity for you flick to even a few scores, maybe vs hmmmmmmmmmm let me think, C.W.... lol

you cd be the Lion Killer and he cd be the back room brawler

maybe cd even be a tag team with Glover in your team and God in his...... my moneys on Glover over God.....

great match up............. is their room on the card.

is ropata the doctor on the night?

Things are looking great for this event. Thank you to all who have indicated on either Facebook or this forum that you will be supporting this fundraising initiative for our club. We now have 20 Corporate tables secured for the event which is awesome news, there are also more companies/groups that want tables.

All the fighters are in training and have impressed their individual trainers with their training ethic and committment to the event. Tickets have just been printed and will be available for sale in the next couple of days (LRLFC and CRFL Headquarters). Also keep an eye out for the official Poster out promoting the Fight Night. This will also be available for viewing on the official facebook page if you don't manage to sight it at our various Posting spots.

With regards to Fights, we are very dissapointed not to have the Halswell Hornets presence felt in the ring on the night as Filiga (Hornets) had to withdraw from his fight against Chris Bamford. However, I am pleased to announce that another courageous Eagle has stepped up to the challenge. Peter Ah Tong will now be facing off against Chris "Bam Bam" Bamford! This will truly be a battle of two heavyweights.

Check out the new forum topic: "Keas Fight Night Boxing Picks" Competition

No need to apologise GB as you were not the guy that let us down. We (all clubs) are all focused on getting the results on the field first and foremost. But like I eluded to in my earlier post, it is unfortunate that you guys will not be supporting this event but hey life goes on.

Best of luck for the Hornets attempt at snatching Pat from the Panther's claw in your Jubilee year

$30 door sales on the night.

Here's part 1 of my Fight Night build up yarn...

Chris "Bam Bam" Bamford (Keas) vs Peter "Sound the Dong" Ah Tong (Eagles)

These two Heavyweights have looked the goods in their lead up to this bout and this one is going to be action packed and full of whacks! A fiery slug fest is on the cards!

Teni "The Godfather" Tuli (Keas) vs Vince "Is in da house" Whare (Knights)

Two veterans of Canterbury Rugby League going toe to toe. Power, experience and ticker. Who will be the ultimate veteran?

Matt “The Mauler” Molioo (Keas) vs Charles “The Battling Bulldog” Beattie (Bulldogs)

Two big units with very quick and heavy hands. This fight is going to be packed full of power and boxing nouse. Expect fireworks!

Agaese “Fists of Fury” Fiso (Keas) vs Tyrone “T-Bone” Edmonds (Tigers)

Plenty of speed and flurrys of punches expected in this bout. Both fighters have impressed with their movement and array of punches in their training. Don’t blink because you might miss this one!

Rakatau “Cement” Rawiri (Keas) vs Kasi “Lightning” Leka (Lions)

Both heavy hitters with a great arsenal of punches. Will Leka’s speed be too much for Rawiri? Or will “Cement” prevail with his toughness?

Alex “The Red Viking” Todd (Keas) vs Jaye “Lookie Lookie” PukePuke (Lions)

Two Canterbury Bulls front row team mates going head to head. The skilled Kickboxer versus the tough as nails Ginger Ninja!

Keep an eye out for the rest of the wrap up to follow in the next few days…
